Collaboration of Central University of Jharkhand with Columbia Water Centre, Columbia University, New York

 

 

Dr. Amit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Centre for Land Resource Management, Central University of Jharkhand is working in collaboration with Columbia Water Centre (CWC), Columbia University, New York in a ‘Multi-purpose R & D pilot project of Jharkhand Rural Drinking Water Supply’ since January 2013.


The project aims at in exploring cost effective and feasible solutions to the use of solar powered and low cost piped drinking water supply, rainwater harvesting and storage, and reclamation and reuse of water in abandoned mines/ quarries in Jharkhand. The findings of this project will help in providing sustainable and safe drinking water facility at household level in the rural areas of Jharkhand. As a part of the project, CWC will provide internships/ opportunities to the students of Central University of Jharkhand.
