Successful completion of Seven-Day Photography Workshop in CUJ

Ranchi, Feb 05, 2016: Centre for Mass Communication organized a seven-day workshop from 29 January to 05 February 2016 at Central University of Jharkhand for the students of Mass Communication and Indigenous Culture Studies.

‘Photography had made its mark in the education arena and has changed the way people have been seeing the world around them. So, the purpose behind conducting this workshop was to explore and nurture the creative skills of the students and give them a chance to identify their photography calibre, said by the coordinator Mr. SudarshanYadav, Assistant Professor at Centre of Mass Communication

‘The enthusiasm of the students participating in the workshop was simply beyond expectations. Seeing this, the Centre is all set to continue these kinds of fruitful workshops to produce quality students and give an industry based exposure to the students,’ said Dr. Dev Vrat Singh. The workshop ended successfully on 05 February 2016 with the vote of thanks and by felicitating the guest with mementos by Dr Dev Vrat Singh, Dean and Head, Centre for Mass Communication. The students were also given the certificates after the successful completion of the workshop. Dr. Paramveer Singh was also present on this occasion.

During this comprehensive workshop, the first three days the students were given a complete overview of photography basics by Mr. Ajay Kumar. He is a freelance photographer and was associated with The Hindustan Times in the past. He explained the basics of photographyin a friendly and entertaining manner. The following days the students were introduced with different kind of genre of photography and were taught editing in Photoshop. Mr. Kumar said that there is a huge prospect of a photographer with the ever increasing demand in different fields related to communication. After the detailed theory session, came the turn of practical round in which the students were taken to Birsa Munda Bio-diversity Park, Ormanjhi Zoo for a visit to practice nature and wildlife photography under the guidance of mentor.
