Students from Norway visited CUJ

Ranchi, Dec 08, 2016: Students and teachers from Norway visited the Central University of Jharkhand and interacted with the students and faculty members of various centres. The students of Viken Folke High School, a famous music school in Norway, study jazz, pop and rock music for one year, before they proceed to college. They are here in Ranchi to know and learn about Indian music traditions and to understand the culture of India.   

About a dozen students along with their faculty member reached Ranchi last week. At the Central university they visited Centre for Human Rights and Conflict Management,  Centre for Tribal and Customary Law, Centre for Tribal folklore language and literature, Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences and Centre for Performing Arts. At the Centre for Music and Performing Arts they enjoyed a skit performed by the centre’s students and learnt Nagpuri and Hindi songs with the students.

In the last, they met the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand, Prof. Nand Kumar Yadav Índu and shared their experiences.’ Prof. Yadav said on this occasion that such interactions, among students of different countries, are very useful and important for global learning.
