Ranchi, Mar 18, 2016: Central University of Jharkhand is celebrating 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel with great zeal and vigour this year by organising three day celebrations. On the second day of these functions university organised “a walk for unity” in the morning. More than 150 students participated in this event.

An exhibition of the photographs of Sardar Patel “His Life: His Times” was inaugurated by Prof. A. N. Mishra, Head, Centre for Life Sciences. Dean Students Welfare Dr. Shreya Bhattacharya and Chief Proctor Dr. Ajai Singh were also present on this occasion

Centre for Mass Communication screened a 21 minutes short documentary produced by Film Division and also one episode of television series ‘Pradhanmantri’ produced by ABP news channel which was based upon Sardar Patel’s life and work.

Speech competition was organised on the topic ‘Relevance of the thoughts of Patel in the modern context’ and quiz competition on ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai’s Patel Vision of India’ was also organised. On the first day of this celebration, students also participated in poster making and essay competitions.
