Workshop on Census Data in CUJ

Census department of Jharkhand in collaboration with Centre for Mass Communication conducted a one-day workshop in the Central University of Jharkhand. The programme started with the felicitation of the VC Prof. Nand Kishore Yadav ‘Indu’ by the Deputy Director Shri Priyatosh Amishth of Census department of Jharkhand and lighting of the lamp.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Nand Kumar Yadav ‘Indu’ in his speech emphasized on the use of census data in research and development process. He said, ‘nowadays private companies also use census data which is collected by the census department’.

The objective of this workshop was to throw light on the importance of Census and to spread awareness among the students about the census report of 2011 of Jharkhand. A brief presentation on the census data of Jharkhand was also showed to the participant through by the Deputy Director Mr. Priyatosh Amishth.

This workshop also highlighted the importance of census report for the research work and other academic purposes. A 14 minutes documentary on the Census of India was also screened. Around 100 media and management students, research scholars, employees, teachers of Central University of Jharkhand participated in this workshop.
