CUJ Students Bag Prizes and Accolades

Ranchi, 31st August 2015: Four students from the Centre for Far East Languages (Chinese), Central University of Jharkhand participated in The Second Hieun Tsang Chinese Language Cup Competition organized by The Department of Chinese language & Culture (Cheena Bhavana) in association with Consulate Office of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata. Students from Visva-Bharati University, Banaras Hindu University, Jadavpur University and some other universities too participated in this academic event. Yuvraj Singh, a fifth semester student pursuing five year Integrated Master’s programme at CUJ, won 1st prize in Chinese Song Competition. Rothit Kumar and Rohan Jha, from 5th and 3rd Semester respectively, received 2nd and 3rd prize in poetry recitation competition. Janamejay Kumar got consolation prize for delivering speech on “Learning Chinese Language.” The students on this academic tour were accompanied by Miss Khana Baidya, a teacher at the Centre. Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jharkhand, Prof Nand Kumar Yadav ‘Indu’ congratulated the students on their success and said, “I am very proud of my students. Such all India level prestigious prizes and participation not only encourage the students but also bring glory to the University.” Dr. Shreya Bhattacharji, Dean, School of Languages, too expressed her happiness over the accomplishment of the students.
