Celebration of Independence Day at Central University of Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug 15: The 68th Independence Day was celebrated by the Central University of Jharkhand with gaiety at both university campuses—Brambe and Cheri Manatu.

Vice chancellor Prof A N Misra unfurled the tri-colour on both occasions in presence of students, faculty members and other administrative staff members.

The vice chancellor was given a guard of honour at Brambe, the university’s present campus.

At Brambe, Prof Misra while recalling the struggle and sacrifice of scores of people across the country to earn the prized moment on August 15 in 1947, advised the students to delve deep into the deeper meaning of independence.

He hoped that the students, the future of the country, would commit themselves to the cause of the country and accordingly contributing to the nation building as upright citizens.

Prof Misra also presented medals and token of appreciation to the security guards who earned distinction for their duty. The prize winners comprised Ashish Puran Ekka (highest turnout), most spirited male guard Naiyer Ansari, most spirited female guard Ms Hiramani and most spirited security superviser Pardseshi Oraon.

Cultural programme with patriotic fervour was organised on the occasion.

After that all went to Cheri Manatu, the site for permanent campus.
