Ranchi, Dec 19: The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) is extremely shocked to learn of the attempt to blow a part of its construction works at its permanent campus at Cheri Manatu.

The University has been receiving full support all along from people in the area and such an incident is enormously disturbing.

The CUJ has plans to start functioning from permanent campus from the next semester beginning January, 2014.

The public is perhaps aware that there has been a determined and concerted effort by a group with vested interests to sabotage the work and progress of the University. Over last two years till as recently as last week such people with vested interests have been alleging and maligning the University in different ways.

The CUJ, however, refuses to believe that the group is involved or would sink to this level of desperation in its attempt to stall the development of the university.

The University welcomes and looks forward to completion of investigation by the local police.

The University on its part is keeping the Government of India informed of the situation.
