Ranchi, Feb 12: Top rung scientists and mathematicians from across the country have gathered at a two-day national seminar organised by Centre for Applied Mathematics of Central University of Jharkhand.
The seminar was a joint venture in collaboration with Jharkhand Society of Mathematical Sciences, convener of the programme Prof K C Prasad today said.
Senior scientists comprising Dr S S Prasad, Dr R R Tiwary, Dr Harikumar (all from ONGC) and Mr B Singh from Bihar Institute of Mines and Mining Survey and Dr P K Majhi (MECON) and Dr S K Sinha (CMPDI) took part in the seminar that concluded recently.
Among the mathematicians present on the occasion were Prof D K Gupta and Prof A R Roy (IIT, Kharagpur), Dr Neeraj Sinha (IIT, Kanpur), Prof A Sinha (Patna University) and Prof A A Khan (Ranchi University).

Besides, Commissioner (Palamu) and vice chancellor of Nilambar Pitambar Unicversity Mr N K Mishra (IAS) spoke on the occasion.
The speakers mainly discussed new concept in ranked ordered sampling, constraint optimization in computer networks, Diophantine approximation, oscillatory and non- oscillatory solution of differential equations besides a popular talk on “ Issues Associated with Nano Science and Technology”.
About 70 delegates were registered in the seminar and several invited lectures and paper were presented.
A symposium was dedicated to the subject on “Mathematical Challenges in Energy Sectors”.
