CUJ students sweep award at a national competition on short video

Ranchi, Feb 18: In a stupendous feat, students of Centre for Mass Communication of Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) have received both first and second prizes at a national level competition on short video on community radio.

The programnme was organised by UNESCO-Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) on a subject Communirty Radio Video Challenge.

CUJ students—Navneet Sitarehind, Madhavi Kumari, Juhi Kumari and Manish Kumar submitted their short video on Community Radio, titled ‘AAJI KAR RADIO’ that brought them the first prize and cash of Rs 20,000. The award was given in New Delhi on World Radio Day later last week.

 

The other group comprising Prince Kumar and Suraj Thakur, who submitted short video titled ‘ANGUTHACHHAP MASTERJI’ bagged the second prize along with cash of rs 15,000.

All the students on their return from New Delhi today said they were highly encouraged after receiving the prizes at national level among a large number of participants from across the country.

Vice chancellor Prof Darlando T Khathing congratulated the children on their success and wished that this would motivate others to follow. Prof Khathing said there is no dearth of talent among students in the CUJ.
