Prof. B.P.Sinha Retires

Ranchi, Jan 31: Professor B P Sinha, Head (Centre for English Studies),  Dean (School of Languages) at the Central University of Jharkhand  today retired capping a four-decade career in teaching profession in different educational institutions.

Since his joining the CUJ in March 2011, he has served as the Head, Centre for English Studies. He went on to become Dean, School of Languages thereafter. It was under his able guidance that two International conferences, titled “Text, Culture and Performance: Postcolonial Issues” (February 2012) and “Voices from the Margin: Society, Culture and Exclusion” (February 2013) were organised by the Centre for English Studies and the School of Languages respectively.

He was instrumental in conceptualising and transforming into reality the Dance, Drama and Music Guild which encouraged and facilitated the extra mural activities of the university students.

He also served effectively in various committees in numerous capacities on different occasions besides serving as Vice Chancellor-in-Charge on various occasions. He has been a member of the Executive Council of the CUJ.

A farewell function was held here on the occasion in presence of Vice Chancellor Prof Darlando T Khathing, Registrar A K Sharma, faculty members, administrative staff and students. Dr Khushbu anchored the programme.
