Ranchi, Oct 10: The sharp decline was mainly attributed to “negative portrayal” of India by historians with “vested interests” and British rulers.
Prof. Sanjay Patro, professor of marketing, XLRI, Jamshedpur today made this observation while delivering a lecture on "Emerging Challenges in Marketing in the 21st Century" at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) today.
However, the scene has changed and centre of gravity in terms of marketing is shifting towards India and China, Prof Patro said.
He said there is no dearth of talent in India and entrepreneurship is building up encouragingly in India in past few years.
He talked on issues ranging from Indian industrial giants to foreign companies and offered a micro analysis of FDI and its positive impacts as well.
According to him, 65 per cent of the country’s population is below 35 years, which will prove very beneficial. He termed it as “demographic dividend”.
