Brief introduction

Soil is rich in biodiversity and is composed of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) which colonize plant roots and, besides other beneficial effects, mobilize nutrients via their biological activities and thus augment efficient and sustainable nutrient use by plants. However, Chemicals and other abiotic factors adversely influence role of such PGPR. We are exploring efficient PGPR, through their compatibility, pant-microbe interaction and their performance over varied abiotic parameters, to form defined consortium groups for field application. Apart from this, we are also exploring natural bioactive agents and siderophores (a virulence factor in pathogens) production and its potential development as molecular medicine.
