Brief introduction:

My research interest is basically focused on the instrumentation and experimental development in the field of atomic and molecular collision physics that includes X-ray spectroscopy, electron backscattering, multiple ionization process, and Auger spectroscopy. Fabrication of a Time-of-Flight mass spectrometer with position sensitive capability and various types of energy resolved electron spectrometers like Velocity map imaging and magnetic bottle spectrometer are the prime objectives of my current and future research work. Our work has very important applications in many areas of science and technology, for example, astrophysics, planetary science, radiation damage studies, medical physics and computing.

In such a research, we use different kinds of instrumental components and detectors, namely, ultra-high vacuum techniques that includes vacuum pumps, vacuum measuring devices, photodiode detector, Faraday cup, Si-Li detector, electron gun, ion sources, etc; detectors like channel electron multiplier and microchannel plate detectors.

In past my main work was to study the angular and energy distributions of emitted X- rays from thick and thin targets. Additionally, I have made significant contribution in study of molecular coherence effects in bremsstrahlung processes.

Now we are developing the step-up for study the fragmentation dynamics of biomolecules and clusters under the impact of ions and photons. Then we will move towards the time resolved studies in collaboration with others groups in India and abroad.
