Worked as National Programme Coordinator in All India Santal Welfare and Cultural Society (AISWACS), December 2005 to March 2011:

Assignments included:

    • Lobby advocacy nationally and internationally amongst planners, politicians, bureaucrats, development partners, human rights organisations, and grass-root organisations in favour of Adivasis/Indigenous Peoples.
    • Writing project proposals, reports for the donor agencies, organise, and coordinate trainings, workshops, and seminars on capacity building, Organisation Development and Management, Participatory Strategic Planning and legal rights
    • Preparation of Press and Media Releases
    • Monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing projects
    • Dissemination of information on issues related to human rights, Indigenous peoples rights, and land rights in national and international seminars.

Presented a keynote paper in an International Symposium on “Belief, Scholarship and Cultural Heritage: Paul Olav Bodding and the Making of a Scandanavian-Santal Legacy”, organized by Museum of Cultural History at the University of Oslo, Norway, 3-5 November 2015. Title of the paper presented: “Bodding’s Legacy and Indo-Norwegian Collaboration: Prospect for Research and Investigation” by Shilpi Hembrom, Central University of Jharkhand.
  2. Attended and presented a paper on ‘Right to Education and Indigenous Peoples’ Human Rights Council, Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, 1st session, Study on Lessons learned and Challenges to achieve the Implementation of the Right of Indigenous Peoples to Education, 2008, Geneva, Switzerland.

Project Experiences  
  1. Worked as Regional Coordinator (Jharkhand) for Indian Institute of Dalit Studies during October 2012. on the project titled 'Study of Social Inclusion at the level of PRIs, Zila Parishad, Panchayati Samiti, Gram Panchayat (GP) and Gram Sabha (GS) level in select States with a particular focus on disadvantaged groups such as Women, SCs, STs, OBCs and Differently Abled and also documenting select number of cases highlighting Success and Failure'. This study was supported by Ministry of Panchayati Raj in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
  2. Worked as Project Coordinator in project titled “Participatory Action Research on Adivasi Self Rule (PAR on ASR)”, Phase II”, from October 2006 – September 2009, implemented by AISWACS in collaboration with Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst (EED), Germany.
  3. Worked as Research Coordinator in project titled “Revival and Revitalization of the Historical Heritage and Cultural Identity of the Santals in Jharkhand and adjacent State of West Bengal”, from September 2008 – August 2009, implemented by AISWACS in collaboration with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
  4. Worked as Project Coordinator in project titled “Rule of Law: Panchayati Raj and Strengthening of Democracy”, implemented by AISWACS in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAF), January 2008 - December 2008, New Delhi.
  5. Worked as Project Coordinator in project titled “Santal Hul 150”. The project was carried out from April 2005 – March 2006  in collaboration with Santali Literary and Cultural Society (SLCS), Indian Confederation of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples (ICITP), Vishwa Bharti University, East Anglia and Sussex
